ESPP Let's hear the details of your airline
If your company offers an ESPP you should participate. I only contribute 2% to the plan so it's a small part of my investment strategy, but it has been paying off handsomely for the last few years.
I just bought 40 shares at $54 on the same day the shares are at $80. If I sell them immediately, I get taxed at regular income levels. But if I wait another 18 months, I get taxed at regular income for the 15% discount and long term capital gains for the gain. Since I've only been doing it for a few years, I've really missed out of some tremendous gains. Still, I just sold the shares I bought 2 years ago for a $12,000 gain at long term capital gain rates.
Alaska:
Look back 6 months. 15% off the cheaper of the two market prices. That's as generous as it gets, I believe.

So, nobody will share their company's ESPP details? I can only presume that you don't know them because you don't participate or perhaps one is not offered. In either case, it's an important part of a company's benefit package. It could be included in the pay section on this web sites company profile.
