Default Personal Bankruptcy Effect on Hiring

Hi all. A quick question: Does anyone know if having a bankruptcy on your credit report would affect getting hired at the majors? I've heard some say most majors do a credit check and that bad credit can be a no-go item, but I've never had a credit check done at the regional level and I don't know anyone personally who has run into this.

Thanks.

I know that my dad runs credit checks on anyone in a managerial position but I'm not sure if airlines do for pilots.

some companies do...some don't.... my company does... as we fly government contracts and its a requirement.

I am sure there are some companies who will not hire someone with a really bad credit problem. That said... bankruptcy can happen from LOTS of situations.... medical....etc... might not be as devastating as one from pure overspending.
