If the mortgage company owns the credit card company or if they both are separate divisions of the same mother company, they'd love to trade your 5% fixed rate mortgage payment for your adjustable-at-their-every-whim rate, at around 20% credit card payment.

I don't use credit cards because I have found that if I use cash... it "hurts" to spend it therefore, I spend less. I spend less enough where I am pretty sure that my cash-hurting savings will outweigh ANY possibly rewards coming from and credit card. For large purchases, since I have the financial discipline to SAVE my money for purchases before I need them, I am NEVER exposed to even the SLIGHTEST possibility of having to pay a dime of interest. An adequate emergency fund and a little personal discipline, and you will NEVER need to borrow money ever again.

When money is borrowed, the borrower is always SLAVE to the lender.
