Default Anyone ever used Free Credit Report ?

Some time back I linked on to this and went through the process like name, ss etc and then clicked on a credit agency and found out that getting the score is not free just the report ,has anyone else ran into this ?
Any idea as to why the score is not included in this ?

Well, I use it and it's exactly what you said; a free credit report. You do have to pay extra for your score. That score is from one credit company, Experian. You have to pay extra again to get the other two.

Try Credit Score and Credit Check | Free Credit Score I have used it. There is a catch all sales pitch in there somewhere that says if you don't cancel your membership within X day/weeks/months you will automatically be billed for a full membership. Just find that caveat and make sure you cancel your membership.

AnnualCreditReport.com is the government mandated site where you can get all three credit bureau reports for free, once a year. This site does not include the credit scores.

If you sign up for the free 30-day trial with one of the big three credit bureaus you do, if I remember correctly, get all three credit scores. But you have to call a toll-free number to cancel the account before the end of the 30-day trial or you get charged for another month's service.

The toll-free number appears to redirect to a call center in India and you really have to insist, many times, that your account be cancelled. "Hello, my name is Padma...".

I would have included the credit scores on this mandate also but then again that's just me .

Don't apartment complexes, banks, and whoever check your credit score when you apply for residence or a loan? Can you obtain a copy of that report?
Not as immediate or convenient as a "free" credit score check, but definitely less risk.

I think you are only entitled to a free report if they deny you credit. If you're a regional pilot you could always go try to buy a mercedes just to get the free report.

But a hard credit pull like that actually damages your score.

AnnualCreditReport.com is what I use. As someone mentioned, you are entitled to your credit report once a year from the top three credit reporting agencies. And each one will charge you about 7 bucks for the score if you want that, too. Seems like for most people, a once a year check of your credit history should be enough to stay on top of things.
