The Rich Are Different
Well, here's another study on human differences. The money spent on all these studies could have fed the 12 million starving Somalis.
From MSNBC:
Psychologist and social scientist Dacher Keltner says the rich really are different, and not in a good way: Their life experience makes them less empathetic, less altruistic, and generally more selfish.
In fact, he says, the philosophical battle over economics, taxes, debt ceilings and defaults that are now roiling the stock market is partly rooted in an upper class "ideology of self-interest."
“We have now done 12 separate studies measuring empathy in every way imaginable, social behavior in every way, and some work on compassion and it’s the same story,” he said. “Lower class people just show more empathy, more prosocial behavior, more compassion, no matter how you look at it.”

This just in, researchers at Berkeley are going to discover that empathy doesn't power ships, trains, planes, cars or feed people. We expect a breakthrough any time now.

Are some rich selfish? Probably. I think the "poor" in this country are the most selfish. They don't have to pay taxes, yet they get to eat for free, have cell phones/tv's/cars, and free health care etc. That's not being poor. They also sell their food stamps for drugs. The rich hire employees by the thousands, if not millions all over the planet. This class warfare and infatuation with the rich has got to stop.

How many jobs has Glenn Tilton provided? If the rich are job creators (spending their money to employ others) why is the wealth gap wider than ever? Also, it's plenty easy for some of you to sling mud when you've never been in that position.

Many studies draw inept conclusions based on limited consideration of the data available and often report partial truths as a result.

Deflection of a direct question shows vulnerability. Jungle, please continue telling us how wealthy you are, and how poor people are a waste of space in your mind. I speak from experience, not inconclusive studies that you only agree with when debating on the side you're for. I'm done with you. I know you want the last word. Go ahead, but please let me know who you work for so I can withdraw my application.
