Investing for the future

Reviewing some older posts. There is a UPS pilot who went out on disability several years ago. He hooked up with a firm that does planning and asset protection. He developed a supplemental loss of license policy for UPS pilots and the next year introduced it to several of the majors. I talked with him and he said they work with regional pilots and corporate pilots for loss of license insurance also. I'm using his firm for planning and investments and after years of floundering around with other advisors have never been more pleased.
Since he's been at the firm they have formed an aviation team.
Here's their website:
Financial Planning and Risk Management for Pilots

If you are an ALPA pilot, you can receive free and discounted services with Schwab executive services. Just have to call Schwab and I identify yourself as ALPA pilot.
This is due to ALPA National R&I arrangement with Schwab.
Sounds like this would be a first good step as they will sit with you and explain options. Cover the basics and make recommendations without a cost other than fund expense ratios.
Much better than starting off going to an advisor that charges on a percentage basis.
As you learn more, it will feel more comfortable. If not, they too will have advisors that will be full service if you want to outsource.
Good luck
