Hello everyone.
I'm new here and wanted to ask any regional guys if they know about prospects of regional airlines hiring a former AF military pilot with over 2000TT flying the tanker but hasn't flown in 4 years. Have a commercial, ME and instrument but no ATP. What is needed for airlines to give me a shot in my situation. honest answers appreciated. Thanks.

I had similar circumstances (Navy fixed wing maritime guy who hadn't flown in 3 years) and no less than 4 regionals were seeking me out to interview with them.
I ended up going with an ISR contractor. Whilr not everyone's cup of tea, the money is good and it was an easy transition and no issues getting through training.

Well qualified? How much flight time does the average fighter pilot have? Have they been to busy, high density airports with more then two long parallel runways? Do they have experience with extended periods of imc and shooting approaches? Experience with arrivals and departures?

When I upgraded, my sim partner was someone I flew with at Comair. He'd been out of flying over two years and had no problem. He's a former AF F/E with 10 years at Comair.
You shouldn't have much problem getting hired at a regional. If at all possible, get a base where you live or are willing to relocate too.
