Does anyone know a place to get the FEX written and 1st Class Med accomplished in Europe (saves a trip stateside)? Any Flight docs at your bases who offer it somehow?

If you are stationed at EGUN, (I think you are), there is an FBO in Norwich that has an American guy working there. I think he is able to do the writtens there for the FAA. Sorry I can't be more specific, but I researched that info about 2 1/2 years ago. As far as the medical, the best bet is to call each of the Flt Medicine offices and ask if any of their docs are AMEs. A few years ago there was a Col that did them, but I know he has since PCS'd. You could also try ETAR and maybe work out some leave w/ space-a for a day or two versus coming to the US. Otherwise, wait for the next redeployer to come through. email me and I can tell you ov some coming through soon.

I was told the same thing when I got mine while at SOS. The flight doc there said they can't carry the cert for a class 1...only a 2. It was free and worth every penny. I'll check anyway. I'm sure they'll be closed for training though. You know how it is around here. Have you been hired by anyone yet? The stress is on for sure. I can't wait to have the transition behind me. VSP will be a great bridge for sure. It might be nice to 'retired' for a year and fish everyday.

GET OUT OF THAT OFFICE JOB!! What do you have to offer them any more? I'm sorry, but it's all about number 1 now. You are right - any overseas BE trips are nice. I'm trying to get on a coronet next week to jump my hour total to the next round number.
Just had my pre-sep briefing. It's all too real now. I'm still looking for a job - I think the hollidays slowed all companies down a bit. Plus, I'm not available until mid Apr with terminal leave - still a bit early to get calls from anyone. They usually wait till you are closer to being available to interview. Still have my fingers crossed.
I'm actually trying to find a way to convert my FAA ATP to a JAA and move back there!!! can you believe it?
