Translating Military Service to Resume

Translating Military Service to Resume
Hi All - I am transitioning in just under 12 months and have been hammering away at getting my ducks in a row. I've been perusing the site for months and recently joined the forums, so this is my first post.
I am now in the resume building stage and flushing out my profiles on the application sites.
I've googled and seen the various airline resume styles, viewed the military resume in the downloads section on this site and I've also searched the forums here and came up with some discussion on how to list experience. All pretty much seem to go Certs/Ratings, Flight Time, Experience and Education.
Question 1: I know the main ones under flight time from searching this forum, but I have noticed that some list Instrument and Turboprop time and some don't under flight time. Is that driven by the actual airline application and their min requirements or just extraneous information?
Question 2: Under the experience section, I've seen all manner of breakdowns. Pretty much all list just a major billet, or two, at each PCS with a simple descriptor. From there it deviates from a paragraph outlining billet highlights (similar to a traditional non-flying resume) to a "bullet-ized" list of military flight qualifications for the most part (Instructor, Functional Check Pilot, etc.) and some billet highlights. My assumption is that the flight quals for military folks are key and the "leadership stuff" is assumed based on the billet, flight quals earned and rank attained during service. The forum searches I did seem to lean that way. Am I on the right track? Does anyone have a recommended format/gouge for that section?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Heed

A lot of it's up to you, but I think generally the leadership stuff is "assumed"...I'd certainly make note of it but save the fluff to make space space for anything else which might be enhancing, such as volunteer work, etc. If you need to fill up some white space, then throw in more deets about your military jobs.
Exception might be significant flight ops leadership or something really impressive (white house fellow, aid to a senior GO/FO, etc)...definitely highlight that.
Not sure why any pro pilot wouldn't list instrument time, it might be a good idea to list IR time in the last 6 or 12 months, if you have enough of it.
Turboprop time probably depends...if you're apply for a prop job, list it. Otherwise it depends on how much room you have. I'd be inclined to list it, it shows experience diversity at a glance.

That is kind of what I assumed.
After 20 years, I am trying to figure out what to put in and what to leave out, so filling white space isn't necessarily the issue. It's seems to be more of an exercise of "picking" the right things to highlight.
First pass through I tried to mix both flight quals/leadership with ground officer highlights at each stage. Ran out of space (chronologically speaking) and that's where comments I read on the APC forums came to mind; i.e. "they've seen a ton of military folks come through".
Next pass I think I will highlight the flight stuff first, to include the ops leadership you mentioned, and then round out the page with some of the bigger ground officer highlights.
Thanks for the mentoring!
