3006 - is that fighter time? There's a young guy in the latest AA new hire class with about that time, plus a couple hundred w/ a regional to round it out. He didn't have to spend but a few months with the regionals before he got the call.

Hi all,

Guard fighter guy here with about 12-1300k TPIC but low total time. I've been looking into the regionals to check the part 121 container and build some time.

I'm leaning towards PSA/Piedmont or Endeavor based on preferential interviews, but aside from that it's tough to say if there is a "good" choice amongst the regionals right now. Anyone have any recent luck with one of these preferential interview deals?

Thanks,
BrownBear

I know a couple of TACAIR guys who have gone to CAT or L3 to boost that total time. I introduced one to my UAL sponsor and he has a CP M&G in DEC.

i'd stay away from endeavor. personally, i dont think you should be worrying about a flow/guaranteed interview with any regional...you will get hired off the street as a mil guy far prior to when you meet the regional requirements for any of the flows/interviews.

I had similar mil time but more civ time:

4000ish total
2500ish civ
2000 CFI
1200 fighter & T38 IP/EP
UPT time

7 internals at DAL & UAL
3 job fairs
A few minor skeletons in the closet (busted CFI check, went to several colleges and took more than 4 years, a minor misdemeanor 20 years ago, a few speeding tickets, etc)

Applied to 11 airlines in Jan 2013. Only called by one and hired, at US Airways. I kept my UAL/DAL app up to date for a while and still have them in (I plan to stay where I'm at though).

Have not received a call even with the 121 job. My advice is apply everywhere. I really wanted UAL for the Denver domicile, I'm glad I applied everywhere, because I'd be still waiting for that call.

I did put my app in with express jet one night, I got a call the next day for an interview. I turned down the interview and was called for my US Airways interview later that day.

Good luck
