Default Navy looking for USAF C-130 pilots

Rumor control... I heard that the Navy was looking for USAF C-130 pilots to fly P-3 as a short tour. Any truth on this? If it is correct, can anyone PM me the info. Thx!

Sign me up! I'm also interested if Guard Guys can do this. How many days? I prefer an assignment in JAX or Hawaii

I think those are just about the only choices left these days haha. Try for jax, cost of living is dumb cheap here and theres quite a bit to do if you have a family or if you don't. Jacksonville is almost like several different cities merged into one so you get different areas with different things to offer. You can rent a 2 or 3 bedroom house in the Riverside district for around $700 to $800 p/month and it was voted one of America's top 10 neighborhoods.

I can't see there being any truth to this rumor. Especially since the Navy could just pull back all the P-3 pilots doing non-flying tours and put them back in the cockpit. I for one would do another flying tour vice flying a desk.

My buddy is the training officer for the reserve squadron in Jax. He said they can't get enough guys to apply for their squadron. This last board they hired a 15 year O-3 who hadn't flown in over 10 years and a former Army Helo pilot.

Does the Navy have a retired-to-reserves program? I'd operate out of JAX...

Do you have a contact email for your buddy?

23 plus year old data, but I used to run pilot boards for VR squadrons. Find the squadron you want and apply. You never know what they"ll go for.
