I dont condemn them. I think they saw the sign and being completely ignorant and stupid to the actual meaning of it thought it would be a "funny" photo opportunity to share on the facespace. I do not take this to mean that they do not care about their country and I am guessing they are not anti military or those who have passed.

I do think that their stupid consequences should have actions. I think that them being fired is not over the top in the least and the public ridicule is deserved. I believe that actions should have consequences and when you anger off the majority of America you cant expect any slack because you thought it was "funny".

I think that the ignorance is the bigger factor. Every time I am in DC I run to all of the monuments. When I get to them I stop prior and walk slowly and quietly observing what they stand for and give them the respect they deserve. Countless times people run through them or bike through them or talk loudly or any other number of offenses. These are not just architectural "things", these are national landmarks that deserve the highest regard.

I may just be biased as I have seen first hand the true costs of what leads to these sites.

Apparently the were both fired, which I'm happy. I hate to see people lose their jobs, but this is different. I have a relative buried in Arlington who was KIA, and that photo really upset me, and as USMCSGT said, although I was never deployed, I did have friends that didn't come back. It made me wish I was there to see it happen, so I could've "escorted" them off the sacred ground as quickly and efficiently as possible if you guys catch my drift.

I don't think doing community service or having to apologize publicly is enough.

Why would Lindsey Stone and Sandra Fluke do a lecture tour together? It would be nice to keep the topic non-political
Sarcasm has no political boundaries, my friend.
