Some guy.......anyway Im in the same boat as you so send me a PM or something.
Sorry, I do have a job and life outside of this board and simply forgot to responded.
As far as UAV, if you guys want a job and are too damn lazy to type 3 or 4(BRAC)letters into a Google search, then I've got nothing for you.

Nothing for nothing but I do want a slot and I will get it. I understand that theres a lot of leg work, and that you must go the extra mile. But you are the one who responded first so why say anything at all?
I have all my scores and have sent out packets. I'm currently talking to a recruiter about enlisting first in order to show some more interest in a particular unit and I fly 121 as well. Thanks anyway-I didn't take it personal! Just try and remember that you were once eager as hell and wanted a slot more than anything else.

I understand wanting the job really bad. You hopefuls today have much more info at your fingertips than any of us did 8-10 years ago via the web, google, and sites like this. Your PM asked what a UAV was and where I work. Both those answers are available by searching this site. Like I said, I had other things going on and forgot about it. My advice to you is unless you absolutely only want to fly for one unit, which would be a foolish narrowing of your options(IMHO), I wouldn't enlist because it really isn't necessary.

I'd only enlist if the unit had a tuition dealy-O' with a state university (like NY or VA does) and you needed the deal/cash for college and give you an inside track. Sucks A$$ when you get called up though.

Other than that, don't do it. Too many good folks let themselves get talked into enlisting then get stuck when the shut the officer program access down. OCS slots are used to fill ROTC/Academy shortfalls. If they're going to commission enough folks from those sources, the OCS slots disappear.

TD, I do know a few people in those units. But don't rule out heavies either. Both offer great opportunities. I have nothing but respect for fighter guys, they are important. We do a lot in heavies as well. Much more traveling, but definitely a different mission. What we both have in common is the desire to serve. The plane doesn't make the mission, the people do. You have to be with a unit that you can enjoy, and be with people you enjoy. If fighters is where your heart is, by all means go for it bud - but don't rule out heavies. Many cargo/tanker units are hiring as well, and are much more open to hiring civilians and members outside of their own unit. My unit is hiring pilots and nav's right now, we also have a heavy need for loadmasters which is where I'm at. The only requirement you wouldn't meet right now, is that we require pilots to live within 150 miles of the base - and your obviously not. We may not fly at mach 2, or simulate aerial combat - but we definitely enjoy what we do and take a lot of pride in performing our mission well above standards.
