OP, does the new guidance memorandum help you out?

AF isn't going to let you leave with a ADSC still on the books... they will string you along with bad OPRs and probably the assignment to go with it. Airlines are concerned during the hiring process on BMI... so some airlines won't touch you if you are large (in there eyes). I would not want this on my record before leaving the service.

Honestly Rick, I don't think you are giving him good information. I have never given a DD214 to an employer. However, some may ask for one to ensure that you are actually separated from the military. If it says "honorable", I'd leave it right there. There is no reason to bring up negative things that aren't pertinent to getting hired. If they ask specifically about your DD214 and what the codes mean, I would certainly tell them the truth. I seriously doubt they will ask for your DD214 (possible though) and it is less likely that they will look at anything other than "honorable discharge."
If they ask you why you left, simply say that you enjoyed your time in the military and are now ready to fly for their airline. You are not lying (unless you didn't enjoy your time in the military).
Don't make a big deal out of this, but honestly, I'd try and lose some weight anyway. Not saying you are overweight or just a big frame, but it won't help getting a job if you are overweight. It helps to look the part when interviewing. Most of us get fat after getting our job!
Good luck dude, keep trying and maybe you'll make the 39" waist anyway...

Thankfully I passed that damn test today with an 84. As I was turning my paperwork in I had a conversation with the UFPM who told me that two weeks ago, at my base, a female Maj or Lt Col was separated over the pt failures with 19 years of service. I don't know if she was a flyer or not. I'm glad I won't have to press-to-test this issue, but I guess the powers that be are keeping their promise of administrative separation for failures.

Now if is she was a fat POS who just skimmed by her whole career then good riddance!

It will be interesting to see how this actually pans out for big blue. I know simply too many guys who are ready for other things. Weird...gone 220+ days/yr for the last 7 actually takes a toll on people. Although not out of the woods, the airlines are starting to move...and with virtually zero hiring in any real numbers the past decade, dudes stand poised to get in the 121 game at a good time. Who knew Admin Separation (Honorable, btw) is all it took...

Would love to know the details...but if it's seriously because they didn't meet the min. in one event, but still scored >75, give me a break. Nothing says "We care for our people," like this! One f'n year... One more reason to take care of your family and yourself first, because at the end of the day (or career) who will be there for you....certainly not he Air Force!

If she was trying hard, it seems like they would have had to extend her to 20.
Even if she was a documented POS, she would have just cried "Ow, my back hurts" and get a medical waiver...that should have got her a year or two.

As far as the O-4/5 situation, in my experience those situations are almost never as simple as that -- there is very likely more to that story. You can rest assured that if I was that o-4/5's commander and she were even a decent performer, I would have gone to bat to keep her around -- and I am convinced most others would have too.
