Default How long to have transfer approved for GI Bil

I submitted a few weeks ago and my request to transfer benefits to my kids is still pending. The kids are still in middle school, but I'm wondering how long the transfer request takes.

I think mine only took like 48 hrs. I went back to the TEB website and it said Transfered up at the top left. As long as you have the date time stamp, you are golden. I am speaking as a Navy Reservist so I don't know how much different your situtaion is. If you are active duty, I wouldn't sweat it. The date time stamp is an issue for SELRES since you have to serve 4 years (as a SELRES, plus there is some active time too) before you can transfer the benefits. If your kids are in middle school, I think you are good.

Same day for me.

I am FTS (=USN AGR) and ended up working my way up the chain to address some service credit issues.

5 weeks? I recommend you get on the phone and see what is up.

Took a few weeks for mine. The VA folks I spoke to told me this - PRINT the page that has the beneficiaries and APPROVED on it and keep it in a safety deposit box or safe so you can prove it years down the road. I hope this $ is still around when my kids go to college.
