USAF voluntary officer recall (including retirees)

Also not an ARMS expert however, if you have met your gate months and have a good flight medical then you should get flight pay. If I remember right the first gate is fly 9 out of first 12 years and then you will continue your flight pay until 15 or so. An ARMS person would be able to tell explain it to you. As far as uniforms I was surprised but I did get $400. Flight pay took a few months but they did back pay me. The two pay issues I need to correct now is Mont. GI bill, they are taking out 100 a month? and Dental. I have gone by the education office to stop it and should get paid back (I never signed up for it). And just found out I need to apply and start my dental again for the family. Been back since mid August.

I am thinking somebody has checked this out already.Any information out there on post 9/11 GI bill? More specifically, if you retired pre 2001 and you return and serve 24-36 months do you get the full benefit?

If you retired with 20 or more years and are back in the AF under the RRORP then you should be eligible for the full Post 911 GI Bill. I just got back my final approval from the VA and the transfer to kids got approved. There is a concurrent running commitment with the 911 GI bill; however, if you are retirement eligible (defined as having over 20 yrs of active service, regardless of your current commitment) then the 911 GI bill has no additional commitment for you. Best free money around! Visit the VA website under Education Benefits for more info. Good luck.

I already transfered benefits to my kids. My situation was a little different than yours (I retired last year, so I already had time after 9/11). The transfer was pretty easy, but initially AFPC still showed me retired and I had to call them and reapply.
This is the website to start the process.

You also have to sign a statement of understanding with AFPC to allow them to process the request. The SOU is in the "my stuff" section of the AFPC website.
My VMPF showed an ADSC of 1 Aug 09 as a result of the transfer since I am already retirement eligible. (I came back on AD on 1 Sept 09).

“I received my EAD orders by email from AFPC today ... exactly 7 months to the day after I submitted my application.”
Lesson Learned From: Back on EAD
I am finding out that not all of one's records cease to exist after being retired.
Good News - EQIP information was left where it was stopped. I just had to update things, but I did not have to start from scratch.
Bad News - USAF considered me three years late as opposed to being retired for three years, to wit, all training (most online) had to be reaccomplished/updated as I was overdue on everything.
I had to fill out a survey returning from a deployment to a land far, far away stating I was okay because I didn't fill this out three years ago because (a) I didn't know such an entity existed and (b) I was not being recognized as retired, just simply late in filling out the form.
I had to do my PFT after being back on active duty for only five weeks.
Today, I was informed that my Web HA didn't talk to the "official" PHA, so even though I don't need to do another physical for a year and a half, I will need to execute another PHA after only one year, because it doesn't get updated automatically along with the 1042. The details of which sound suspiciously like a "short" physical, i.e. this can not be accomplished on-line, but only in Flight Medicine.
I would be interested in hearing of anyone else's individual experiences. Like junk mail, you can apparently live a lot longer even when you cease to exist.
Flight Pay - Good news, it was finally restored on 16 November and was in December 1's LES. This took @ three months from start to finish. I did have to make my presence known at Flight Records/HARM.
Uniform Clothing Allowance lump sum was $400, but it didn't show up immediately. This was in October's LES, i.e. it took @ six weeks, but finance did this of their own accord without any prompting on my part.
If you know of anybody even remotely considering coming back on EAD, please have them get in line now with the proper paperwork before December 31. It could still take seven months before they receive the SOI and they could always then say no, if they don't like the assignment.

I just got told today by the AO revalidation cell that my AOs don't have to be revalidated until I get to my unit (non-flying staff job--AOC). That moves the orders process ahead 30-60 days for those folks in a similar position.
