Default F-18 Crash in Miramar

It's late in the evening here in Germany and I'm watching the news. Heard there was an F-18 crash as it was trying to land. Don't know about the pilot. Hope he made it out ok.

My sister lives under the MCAS pattern...every time this happens I have to drop everything and make sure she's OK. Sounds like the driver got out, no word on casualties on the ground.

RAG student returning from USS is what the news makes it sound like- actually confirmed he was from VMFAT. Heard he was single engine landing opposite runway (from West) before he punched 2 miles short of MCAS. F-18 Pilot at Navy hospital, chute ended up in a tree in the valley below. 3 dead on the ground, 1 missing. Prayers for all the families involved.
