Air Guard A.M.S. closing?

I heard a rumor that the Academy of Military Science (AMS) at McGhee Tyson, TN is closing, and that all ANG officer candidates will attend AF OTS at Maxwell.

Anyone know/hear anything about this?

Please, no stupid comments about how this is an OPSEC issue.

I can't 100% confirm that but I have heard the same thing from my ANG training dept. so I would assume it's true. Sorry no more 6 week wonders

They were saying that when I went through over two years ago....won't believe it until they open their doors somewhere else.

I just hope they don't close the chow hall.

Also, the rumor I heard is that they won't open up anywhere else.

ANG will send everyone thru OTS with active duty and AFRES.

When I went through almost two years ago, it was already in the works. They wanted to be complete by sometime in '09 or '10. They will be going to transfer the training to maxwell in efforts to consolidate. I remember the staff going to meetings then telling us that it was in progress. I also believe that Mcghee-Tyson as a whole is not shutting down just the AETC side of the base.
