Life as a fighter pilot (air national guard)....

Not like you see in the movies. Way overboard and it doesn't fit the regs for the amount of white reflective tape that is required. Most squadrons have a standard squadron emblem for the helmet and then the guy's callsign would probably be on there. I have a Marine cammie cover over mine.

I'm an Army Aviator and I'd much rather be some place else. Then again I'm not a Warrant. Great group of folks in Army Units, you get the ocasional idiot and a few know-it-alls, but Army Aviation is very standardized, very professional, and very rewarding. If you are flying, life it good. If you aren't flying, life isn't so good. If you have one aircraft, 28 pilots trying to fly said aircraft, work as the Human Resourse Officer and never had any training or desire to do so, and have a boss who seemingly hates his staff, then life is terrible.
Back to the original question...
Any F-15 drivers in the Montana ANG want to switch jobs?

Agreed 100%...especially the commissioned side. Being a WO is a really good job, but pay does not increase as much as it does in the commissioned world...nor does responsibility. Often times I ask myself why I am writing evaluations/counseling people, making powerpoints and excel spreadsheets, and wasting my time doing stuff that is mundane, when I could be in the pilot office with the WOs studying or out on the flight line learning. Being a WO you will fly the majority of your career and have very little responsibility outside of being a very proficient aviator.
Despite quick promotions and command opportunities, I would rather be in the ANG or be a WO and do more flying and less BS...perhaps living the Top Gun life, with the endless showers, volleyball, and chicks at bars.
