Looks like that didn't work out too good, so might as well try to replace something like a C-5.
Who said the C-17 replaced the C-5 or C-130? History shows that it replaced the C-141, but why should that little fact get in the way of of your version of reality?

I wish I could find my old copy of Aviation Week. Short field dirt landings,……… I have go by memory . You were probably still crapping your pants and learning play Space Invaders then.
You can keep your reality Riddler, I'm sure mine is much better.

Are the pages all stuck together? God only knows what you'd do to an Aviation Week if it had pictures of A model herks and other "real" airplanes.

Flew the "A" model Herk. When I first saw the fixed card compass, J8 attitude indicator and single ILS receiver by my right knee, I did crap in my pants!

Wright Patt already has their first -17 on the ramp, with 3 more to arrive in the next 2-3 months. I think they're pretty happy to be getting rid of Fred.

Riddler, I hear they're looking for IPs.

Anybody know when Stewart is suppose to get C-17s and if they are going to be hiring IPs?

Why don't you call the Sqs: 89AS at FFO and the 137AS at SWF?

The C-5/C-17 numbers game is NOT based on capes. Opinions are fine, if you don't know the facts.

They are getting them sooner than you think. I had the Commander and DO in my office last month and they were telling me they will likely be getting aircraft in the fall.

yes, they need IPs in a big way.

If only this was a year ago! I'm now back on active duty but FFO would be a great location.
