Now - I must say one thing. I'm concerned for a guy who's website, which promotes him being an F/A-18 Strike Fighter Pilot and graduate of TopGun, has a picture of a double bubble Harrier on the home page of his web site and on his reading material. Something just seems wrong with that.

Perhaps, in fairness, he somehow didnt have much say in the design of the website....but c'mon....if he wants to be serious about selling people on being a fighter pilot, shouldn't he at least use the proper designations??
Reminds me of all the websites out there that want you to spend big bucks for a workout program that promises to make you a buff stud.

You beat me to it! I logged in just to comment on that very observation. Also, what is an F-18?? Wouldn't a hornet driver take the time to make sure his website says "F/A-18" on it? As opposed to the 'F-18" that is currently there.

Someone who revels in the A/A role and forgets about the A/G role and one who likes to think of himself as a FIGHTER pilot vice a STRIKE FIGHTER pilot. It has been common for those to refer to the Hornet as the F-18. The Marines have a play on this too. Sometimes you will hear it referred to as the f/A-18 (little 'f', BIG 'A' - 18)

I just think "F-18" makes his website look tacky and suspect of validity, ya know?

Getting into OTS is great, absolutely nothing to do with whether you fly fighters. Doing the academics is great, but, I've known plenty of complete idiots who were good-great figher pilots. (kind of an idiot savant--just not to the extreme someone like Rainman was)
hands and sa are not something you can build from a book. everybody can drive, but only a few folks in the world can race. almost everybody can hit the ball, but, a Ted Williams-Hank Aaron-Barry Bonds is damn rare
And, I'd venture a guess that every pilot on this forum could fly a fighter.....employing it is a totally different issue
