AD to Reserves during UPT?
Just wondering if anyone knew whether it was possible to transition to the Reserves from Active Duty during UPT? I realize you would have to be hired by a Reserve unit first, but if you were able to do that would it be possible for Big Blue to approve it?
Thanks for any advice!

I had a few guys in my UPT class do this, but that was during the ugly fugly 91-92 timeframe. Unless they throw the word "bank" at the Active duty guys your chances are pretty small.
Not impossible, just really small.

Thanks for the responses guys. It sounds like there really is no possibility to make this happen.
As far as waiting until you complete 2/3 of your committment to Palace Chase I have heard of guys doing it after 1 year of Active Duty. Isn't it true that if Big Blue is overmanned in your specific MWS/year group and you put the paper work into Palace Chase you have a decent shot at getting it approved regardless of how many years you have in?

Shane123 and FLY6584...
You guys should get together and make the AF an offer...trade places. I have seen stranger things happen (in the navy). If you're in the same pipeline it might work.
