Hey130drvr
Not to mess in your nuts or anything, but the last time I was flying at The Rock, I seem to recall your assault strip (LZ) was 3,500' IAW the training regs. I have landed on a 3,050' strip in the mighty Herk, but that was an operational mission...OCONUS.
A 300' random shallow? How do you stay 500' away from structures as you cross the runway?
And to clarify for Ray, we plan to touchdown in the first 500' of the landing zone and be stopped by the end of the runway/assault strip.
Now who's ever landed on a 46' wide highway before in a C-130??

Here's a nice little video I found of a civilian plane doing an overhead break. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8F5fXzn2l0
