I try to fly as fuel conscious as I can but it does make it a little hard for me to climb up to 450 and fly at best range when the mission I'm on is to fly from the east coast to phik empty so that I can transport 20 guys from there to the big island and then fly home empty. If people are really interested in conserving fuel I think that some of those types of missions should be thought through a little more. However if the man wants me to go I'm here to serve!

I recently had to tanker gas b/c Transient Alert at most bases are contract and closed after certian hours. If TACC wants me to operate like the airlines I will require a few things.

1. A certified flight dispatcher that provides me with approved, legal flight and fuel plans. **I love the disclaimer on the IFM/IMT fuel logs**

2. A logistical network that is dedicated to the movement of aircraft.

I agree that we all could operate in a more efficient manner, but as an Aircraft Commander I am forced to make very conservative decisions just to get the mission done. TACC can gather data any way they like, but they have to look at more than the A/Cs name and his fuel loads. What/why drove the A/C to take off with the fuel load also has to be examined.

I feel your pain. I almost called the Fraud, Waste and Abuse Hotline once.

I moved 11 pounds of cargo from ETAR to Kuwait. Because...

"It's a channel"... So what?

"We have to operate the flight frequency"... We followed Atlas the whole way.

"There may be opportune freight for the backhaul" ... Nope.

Maybe I wouldn't have been so bothered if I hadn't already been in the box that month!

How about a flight plan w/ Equal Time Points on it rather than a technique for determining equal distance points? TACC and the flight plan software purchasers must have never heard of winds and actually losing an engine.

Remember- it's not a business, there is no bottom line, just the man holding ya down! Fly safe, be an A/C- They are in for a shock when they try and swap over to UAVs!
