Voluntary separation pay stories

No, but sounds like a great rumor to start. With the way things are going, I would not be surprised.
I am about to test the theory about paying it back once I take some ADSW orders for 10 mos. We'll let you know how that goes.
What have you heard?

Riddler-
Pay us to leave- of course that means they'll pay us to come right back!!!! They already had RAND survey us to figure out the price/incentive packages!
Saw that one coming....

If anyone gets it, shoot for the moon. Ask for $50k/yr for 3 years. That might be enough. Dislaimer: when signed, there will be no deployments greater than 2 weeks or non-flying staff jobs

Same one, only got the one- shot too much milk and soda out my schnozz to be able to make it thru another survey like that..... I take it you mean $50k bonus, I like the 2 week cap, add in a USSERA lock on the job you came from.

Ficone,
Here is the deal to this point. Went to our Personnel Support Det and they said I would get a letter of indebtedness from DFAS and they will ask me to work out a payback plan with the local pay clerks once I am back in the pay system.
I will be re-activated within a few days so once I am back in the pay system I will know more. I will have to pay back, just a matter of how much they can take out per paycheck is the unknown. From talking to everyone, the feel that I get is you are going to pay it back at some point. That is inevitable. If you do your 20, you won't get a pension check until it is paid off if you didn't manage to pay it back while you were on active duty.
Ficone, are you looking at orders? Thinking about going back in?
Good Luck All,
Toto

Great Article for some of us, Not sure I'd want to use that same payback rate before retirement, so cutting a deal w/ local finance pay folks makes sense!
