Cutting training and timelines to the bare minimum, and now this… and apparently with no extra pay, benefits, or promotion incentive to boot. No thanks! Do I miss the flying and the folks around the squadron? All the time. Do I regret retiring or would I consider this offer? Not for one second!
Come back at half pay? So give up your retirement to get full pay? Sounds like they're doing in on the cheap.

I wonder what sort of assignments the 'rent a pilot' will get? How many staff jobs are open? How many guys in staff jobs will gladly allow a 'rent a pilot' to replace him....ASAP!

Presumably there are staff jobs going unfilled due to the “shortage”/leadership failure. The article made it sound like they were offering non-deploying jobs to the retreads, but previous iterations of this have always featured some bait and switch. Needs of the service always trumps vague promises.

MightyQ,
SkillBridge with Baker is a great way to get the currency you need while spending your last 6 months with us vs serving out your commitment...if your commanders will sign off.

Go to the SB website, learn all that you can there.
Apply for the SB position with [email protected]
Speak to Sam and see if you like what you hear

Go through the interview process with the owner and DO (me) and see if we're a good match for each other.

Question, DM me and I'll be happy to help. We've had SB folks hired by AA, SWA and UAL as well as other P135 operators.
