Looks like my 94 won't be enough to get a call this time around either. Maybe the next round....

It's really a shame. There are people here that truly want to serve their country by being in the border patrol, me including. The only problem is it's impossible to get in.

So once you receive you NORs, what is the next step? Are they still calling people for interviews?

Hey everyone, I had a couple questions regarding this whole process. Becoming a customs pilot is my goal, and I'm willing to do just about anything to get there. I do not currently hold a pilots license and have minimal flight experience, but am currently looking for good flight programs in Texas.

So, my question is, what would be the very best route to take to get there? I'm very open to new ideas. Should I get my peace officer and work at getting some LE experience while I train as a pilot? Should I enlist and get some mil experience?

Starting from scratch, what should I do?

Thank a bunch guys, and yes I do realize that I'm asking a rather broad question, however I felt that this is one of the best places to ask it.

Does the CBP have specifically trained people to fly the predator unmanned drones or do current pilots do double duty, flying both manned and unmanned equipment? If it’s the later, will it also apply to rotor pilots as well or just to the fixed wing pilots only?

Anyone hear any rumblings of hiring anytime in the near future(fy 11)?

Getting veteran status is the best thing you could do. They legally have to hire those that have served before those that have not. Those that have deployed get 10 points on top of whatever score they would have normally received. So a 94 turns into a 104. A friend of mine got it for going to Guam! :-D I went there too but under a different status...
