For FY 2010 that was posted June 2009:
Air and Marine (A&M) Personnel $19.1M (72 FTE)
Resources are requested to hire 68 pilots, 20 marine, and 56 support personnel. These positions are necessary for A&M to achieve maximum compliance with strategic goals and objectives and to support Border Patrol agents on the ground. During FY 2010, A&M plans to continue the expansion of its capabilities across the northern and coastal border and place heavy emphasis on the maritime requirements along the southeast/Caribbean borders.
For all those pilots out there in the "hiring pool"..... hang in there guys.
Dutch.

what can I expect?
Anyone got hired by the BP recently for the UAV position? Just got a conditional offer last week pending on the background check. Don't know the location or pay other than GS11. How long before I will hear back from them? Just trying to prepare. Thanks.

Just curious, I spoke to the MN hiring center last week to ask about my status of NOR, they said they were looking for UAV experience. I asked them does my RC 172 count. I mean really, where would I get UAV experience. Did you have UAV experience?
Thanx

Hey everyone...new to the thread. I read every post. Great stuff. Any new updates? I am currently stationed at NAS Kingsville, getting out in about a year and a half. CBP is my first choice. Don't see anything on USAJOBS as far as AIA positions. Where to begin.....a bit initimidating after reading everyone's vastly different experiences with the whole process. just registered with USAJOBS...and that is basically where I stand in the process..lol. Should I submit an application now? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
My background:
harriers by trade, 2x combat tours (200 cbt hrs), t-45 instructor pilot, 1300TT, about 1100 PIC, 100nvg.
Best of luck to everyone.

"Yup. The UAV has been a roach motel......you check in, but you never check out. And there have been more than a number of "good deals" offered that didn't pan out for those there."
"We hired too many people, and now with budget issues we're not even replacing some of the people leaving....spots that will go unfilled as they try to shrink again. But hey, were got 4 brand new M model 60s that don't do much, as well as more and more Preds that cost far more than anything they catch."
That's the fed. government/homeland security at work for ya.
