Tuesdays at 8pm eastern. I do know that it isn't as exciting as they try to make it. I used to work on the border in Inspections, and it is usually a boring, long day in that job. You did have some days where it was more exciting and fun, but for the most part it was slow. That being said, I watch every episode. Also, the guys and gals you worked with for the most part were great. There was definately a brotherhood in that job. Everyone watched out for each other. Something the airlines don't even come close to...That is one of the reasons why I am going back into L.E..

Today, 23rd of Feb, I received the "tentative offer" by mail among other stuff: fingerprinting cards and various paperwork to sign.

c12flyer,Congrats on your Tentative Offer. One big step over, couple to go. Unfortunately, unless they get on the ball, your still looking at some wait time. I got my tentative offer in August and I EOD in May. Good luck, I hope your wait is less than mine was....

GOTBOOST: Nope, didn't sign for it. It was sent priority mail and found it in my mail box alongside the bills and junk-mail.

BYEBYEAIRLINES: On the ball or not, come March 12, I leave for ol' Mesopotamia again for 4 months so at least I'll be keeping busy while I waaaaait.

Default CBP Interview

Hey guys,
Thanks for the great information. I'm headed out next week for my interview and check ride. I'm a helo guy so I'd appreciate any info ya'll could provide. I've got quite a bit of UH-60 time, but I'd be really willing to go anywhere they would send me. Thanks much, fly safe.

C12flyer,

I received the paperwork in August and met face to face with investigator in September. It only took a couple of weeks. He did come to my house, and stayed for about 2 hours. (quite painless) I got lucky with my BI. It was complete in about a month.

Unfortunately that timeline can really screw it for me. I'll be overseas come middle of March for 4 months so if I send all my paperwork in now and get a call from the Investigator in a month or month and half I obviously can't be there for another while.
I've explained that this situation might happen to Oklahoma and DC and both said NOT TO WORRY the Minneapolis center will "work with you." Well I just talked to them, including the supervisor and their interpretation of "working with you" is that it's all up to the investigator's discretion. If he decides that you can't meet with him in a timely fashion he has the authority to withdraw the offer. Oh but that's not all. Upon telling them that where I'm at it is virtually impossible to communicate via phone thus email is the best method she told me she can make a note on my file but that too is at the discretion of the Investigator and if he decides that that's not the way he does business he can call anyway. And if he does he would obviously get no answer and assume I'm no longer interested. Thus he can withdraw my offer and position for two reasons: not calling him back in a timely fashion or not being able to meet him in a timely fashion. After explaining to Minneapolis this very plausible scenario, foolishly hoping for an once of flexibility on their part, I couldn't help but get the impression that their idea of "working with you" is more like "sucks-to-be-you."
