121.436 military
Wondering if i can count 500 of my T-37 instructor hours towards fulfillment of the 1000 hour requirement under 121.436 to be eligible to act as PIC for 121. Guess it comes down to whether or not a T-37 worth an unqualified pilot requires more than one pilot. Thoughts?

A Tweet never "requires" more than one pilot since it can be flown solo. Instructing a student doesn't fall into the definition, unfortunately.

Can a T37 be flown solo? If so, I would think an SIC is not required and therefore it wouldn't count as an aircraft that "requires more than one pilot" which is a requirement for that 500 hours to be counted. You can't solo a C17, tanker, or C5. So those would pass the test. The helo I flew in the army was single pilot capable, but if any mission equipment was to be operated, two pilots were required. So you could maybe make that argument IF there was a stipulation in the T37 -1 about some requirement for 2 pilots like that, which during your UPT instruction you met. But strictly a IP-stud "2 pilot requirement because one isn't rated" doesn't meet the intent in my opinion. You can write the FAA for a legal interpretation and take that to the bank. The rest of the answers here are worth what you paid for them.

"(c) For the purpose of satisfying the flight hour requirement in paragraph (a)(3) of this section, a pilot may credit 500 hours of military flight time obtained as pilot in command of a multiengine turbine-powered, fixed-wing airplane in an operation requiring more than. one pilot."

This just came up at Delta with recent quick upgrades... the company determines those aircraft do not count since they didn't require a second pilot.
