Mesa 3.0
#881
I think some of you are over complicating things... It's pretty obvious, actually. Mesa is about to enter a downward spiral. Your management is not going to pay what it takes to staff the company. Period. Even if pay comes up, and some new flying is announced, there are still other regionals with good bases paying double with a quick upgrade and a lot of growth. SlyWest is advertising double your pay and now offers a 2.5 to 3 year upgrade. PSA offers triple what your FOs are making and offers a 2.5 to 3 year upgrade right now. Piedmont offers you a great salary, plus a $20,000 signing bonus and you will upgrade out of training. I think the post where someone hypothesized that JO is "shorting" the company could be very plausible.

Ask someone with business degrees about CEOs "flushing" companies. Happens all the time when a company has no future and no financial rewards. Those at the top will intentionally drive the company into failure so that a buyout happens.
Then along comes a company, like Mitt Romney's Bain Group that buys it for peanuts, finishes dismantling it and reaps the small profits. All signs point to JO going for this. For him, it would mean a payout when Mesa is bought by a company who will then dissolve it. For you guys, it's disaster.
Get out now. Envoy pays triple starting out, you get a flow to AA, and if you are DFW based you can stay there. PSA is also hiring, Skywest, everyone. No reason to stay and help that crook JO get his pay day.

Well dude you deserve to be there. BTW you should stay there because that dumpster fire of a company sure has a bright future ahead. Enjoy paying for KCM, their IPAD, your lovely stays at the Motel no tells that are unsafe and wifi so sh!!ty, that you can't even watch porn in 480p, low pay, etc. Why go to a real airline when you can stay and gain seniority at Mesa. You and that Goin Sterile dude will make a lovely pair.
Good troll post by the way.

I agree mostly about what you have to say but saying that ANY regional such as Piedmont offers a "great salary" is delusional. You (definitely not IFLYRC) are worth at least 3 times these "great salaries".
ALL regionals pay crap. If they paid more, they would not exist. Mainline would do their own flying.

I'm trying to figure out why any of care what goes on here at Mesa? You don't work here but yet you come here (I acknowledge that you have every right to) and trash not only the company but the pilot group. Smutter calls us "inmates."
GSCFI, skyvector, smutter and ChrisReed, and other non Mesa folks, why do you come here and try to convince us what we already know? We're grown men and women. We made our choice and don't you think we could move on if we would? Maybe starting at another regional (and yes that is exactly what PSA, Envoy, Skywest etc. are) would make sense to you but maybe it doesn't to us yet. If we are missing the boat what difference is it to you? Yes, we would make more money etc. but we'd still be working for a regional. Does it make you all feel good to tear down others? Does it make you feel better about your decisions? I'm glad the race to the top (hopefully) has begun. I'm glad you all are glad about your choices. But please stop tearing down our pilot group. I would guess most of you have never worked here and only know what you have been told. I have been here over a year and I can tell you the pilots I have flown with are great. Our chief pilot is great. I'm happy with my seniority and my schedules.
I was guilty of painting with a broad brush about PSA pilots and I was wrong. ChrisReed called me on it and he was right.
So flame away. Call us names.

I never met Chris Reed, but I believe him to be a good guy that tries really hard to stay logical and level headed. He is also smart enough to not take the troll bait, a test that his Envoy counterparts fail misserably at.
