Default Pilot retention, training contract?

All this talk about pilot retention and training contracts, is Mesa enforcing their training contract? It's what, like 12 months? $12K?

Why the need to know? Are you considering employment here?

Maybe? And maybe you can help me to make an informed decision.
Seeing as you're a E jet captain maybe you'd be willing to share some insight.
Thanks

If you're thinking of employment at Mesa in today's environment you seriously need your head examined. With all due respect.

Lots of movement on the E-jet, no lifers on it, great people to fly with. If you want decent pay and benefits, look elsewhere

Well the responses say a lot. I basically know Mesa is a bottom-feeder. Just trying to help a family member make an informed decision. (i.e. Get the type rating, the ioe and split but with possible lawsuit consequences, or just keep looking at Skywest, Envoy, well almost all others).

They enforced it on me, I quite with 5 weeks to go till my one year anniversary of my checkride. They enforced it by keeping most of my last check. I'm not hating though, no big deal, My bonus at Envoy is more than I made at Mesa last year.

I loved my job and coworkers, but couldn't afford to stay for many reasons, hopes this info helps you make an informed decision.

What's the matter? Did you fail out of SkyWest already?

What good is a type rating without at least 1000 hours flying it?
