Us brownstreakers do it below the line crossing the hold short line for T/O. A lot of times captains won’t do it and just let the fo do it before takeoff when it’s the FOs leg. I just kinda say in my head TO/TO ready to go referencing takeoff config and TO on the PFD scoreboard. A lot of ways to skin a cat.

I assume they do the same on the line.

Different plane different procedures. The CRJ is a wildly different aircraft to fly then the Ejet.

In the CRJ with the GPS Inop the email we received said:
TOGA must be selected when on the runway aligned with runway heading to update the aircraft position prior to takeoff.
Whethere it's TRUE or not is another thing but this is the exact guidance we were given and it certainly can't hurt to do it this way.

The reason there’s lots of open time is because they held back a lot of captains and FOs from having a line and stuck there time in open time. Remember that next time you pick it up, even at 300.
