There's 120 more hours. Rounding math equated to 2 more lines. It's not a perfect science. But it's the one thing that was always missing when we went from paper lines to PBS was a way to figure out where you stood vs potential lines.

We tell people to bid appropriate to their base seniority and line potential. Kinda hard to do that without knowing what the base potential is.

Another question.. Let's say I want to bid so that I only have to commute in once, say a 17 day stretch with minimum days off, so I can get the rest of the month off.. Do I waive 2 days off, and use the consecutive days off bid preference of say 12 days?
What's to prevent the company or PBS from denying the consecutive days off, but honoring the waive 2 days off, and I wind up with a schedule from hell?
What if I want to be able to pick up an additional 4 day trip? Just bid 5 consecutive days off, and hope there's a trip in open time I can pick up in the 5 day period I am awarded?

It looks like American's Wholly Owneds are getting a substantial pay increase. New hire FO Pay at PSA just went to $38.50 per hour year 1 and $40.28 year 2. The sign on bonus is $15K, $20K if you have a CRJ Type.

In addition, after the first year there is a $20K retention bonus for FOs.

Captains get a $7500/yr retention bonus.

Expect to hear about Envoy soon.

Yep...and expect fireworks. Highest pay rates in the industry now...and a flow to AA.

P.S.

Envoy is hiring! And you won't have to tell people you work for Mesa anymore. Tell JO to shove it...I did. And life is much improved...even before these latest announcements.

So what should Mesa pilots do? Fill pillow cases with door knobs and beat the living crap out of the new hires and yell at them to quit and go to Envoy? Well hell, our MEC chairman will still just tell us that we are being too hard on the company wanting industry average anything, no matter how much leverage we have!

What's with the 'tude, dude? Envoy is hiring. Come on over...we will welcome you with open arms. You aren't married to Mesa...it's a stain on your resume anyway. Tell JO to screw himself. In 5 years you will be at AA without ever having to fill out one application, attend one job fair, or log one hour of flight time in your logbook.

You have two feet--that's all the leverage you need in this hiring environment...
