Just got a letter from somebody in mgmt saying they appreciate what we are doing making them tons of money and they give nothing back.

So, you are in the “camp” of JO cashing out, as opposed to raising cash to buy more planes....

The fact that JO finances everything, owns nothing but the worlds only 200 to have a D check, I'd say he only cares about the shell game and making himself rich.In times of trouble, it's easier to furlough pilots and turn in leases than to invest the money so no debt is owed and can weather bad times like a more reputable company would do.

I am in the JO cashing out camp. However, there is an argument that the IPO is timed to raise cash for the initial payment against the 25 Ejets to replace the 700’s. As we see with Republic and SkyWest, United would prefer its regional partners buy the Ejets rather than tying up its own capital.

I would think the aging 900 fleet with AA would be more a priority then anything with UA...

There was a rumor of us replacing old 900s with new ones a few years back but that never materialized.

Unless Mesa’s management knows that UA plans to replace the 700’s next year with 175’s. It’s usually easier to keep business than to earn new business.

Aging? The oldest 90p is barely 15 years old. Planes built in the 70s are still flying passengers.

Planes built by Boeing... ive heard MX say the 700/900’s are 15-20 year aircraft. Heard the 175 is a 30 year aircraft..

When were American’s MD80’s built? Pilots in other bases don’t want the IAD flying to go away. Lot of senior pilots there.
