If IAD is made an official ejet base within 6 months of closing the IAD CRJ base, then those pilots can transfer over. So, it'll be 6 months and one day after IAD CRJ closing that IAD becomes an official ejet base

Hopefully United will start sucking up IAH based E175 FO’s to staff these 100 seat birds.

Rumors are out there that the regionals would be flying the E175’s with 100 seats as United management and union discuss the next step. There is also rumors that United E175’s would be taken in-house and only mainline pilots would fly them.
Whatever happens, I just want my 1,000 121 time done.

Also you can't put 100 seats into a 76 seat aircraft. It doesn't physically work, even in an all-economy layout. Where do you get this stuff? Also scope.
United isn't about to start flying RJ's at mainline, either. Look up Scott Kirby. If they did, it would be a wonderful thing for the profession, but it's not happening any time soon. Endeavor is paying $50/hour to new hire FO's and $122/hour to topped out Captains to fly similar equipment. Apparently it's still economical for Delta, who incidentally has pay scales for CRJ900's starting at $86 and going up to $170. But even if the regionals had to start offering that much or more, Delta would still try to keep the flying at the regionals. Know why? Because after putting in your 2-15 years at a regional, you have to start all over at the bottom of the pay scale at mainline. If they brought RJ's in-house, you'd be moving up their longevity scale the entire time you're flying one. So no, United isn't about to start flying 175's in-house, even though it'd be better for all of us.

The E175 is rated abroad at 95;000 lbs. It is derated for the US regional market. By the way, look at LOT’s E175 seat configuration to see how many seats it will hold. Try a smaller first class and 5 seats across like a MD80 and less leg room.

Now United looking at CSeries & E2
Sat next to a 30yr United Captain last week on employee bus, he said they were trying to add the 175’s to their pilot contract as we drove by the six parked ones by our maintenance hangar. Not sure how much in the know he was.

The letter by the COO was rather amusing, throwing the training department under the bus.
But hey look .. we've got 275 pilots in training! We just don't know where any of them are .. witness the recent survey required of those in training, or thought to be.
They literally lost track of everyone who is here and in the pipeline somehow.

Earlier you mentioned morale. It's been low here for years but shouldn't have anything to do with jets being taken away. No plane is being taken away, and even if it were, the only thing that would change is our staffing/plane ratio would slightly improve. Your morale should have more to do with missing commutes and getting bombarded by calls from crew tracking every single day off followed up by performance/attendance emails from chief pilots right before going back to work your 98-hour, 11-day-off schedule at 5 in the morning.

Can someone please post the letter?
