True, but it might prevent a renewal..... hopefully, the training situation will get figured out soon.
The most junior pilot awarded was in the 8/11/2017 class - which means pilots were still working through training from that month when PBS scheduling started.
They must be experimenting with reserves this month. It was the first month I have seen reserve days unstacked on pilot’s schedules in IAH. And, 5 FO’s had reserve days unstacked onto their schedule.
With long call reserve awarded last month in IAH, I think reserve will become popular to bid among commuters when they start figuring out they can get it. Last month, long call went to a 4/2017 hire in IAH.

Hey MagPBS, what's with sticking ~1,168 hours of uncovered flying in SDF with no reserves? Seems like they could put that flying where it actually is until SDF is staffed and stop the absurd amount of deadheads, base assists, and delays.

This has been their plan all along. They knew that in order to make the base work properly they would have to send more flying there then they are staffing for. The goal is 800 staffed hours. In order to make that work with lines and PBS there has to be slightly more sent, so they're sending 100.
Nothing can be done about the fact the awarded pilots (both CA and FO) are still in training currently. That's what reserves are for.

This month there will be 2 CA & 2 FO assigned long call. I wouldn't say that's a reason to bid reserve.

Not unless you are a senior CA or a senior FO bidding. I assume it goes to the most senior pilots bidding - but that may be wrong.

Huh? What makes you think that? United is trying to increase the number of seats that regional partners can fly to 100. That means a seat reconfiguration of the Ejet and will make Ejet regionals that much more valuable.

So do you think Scope is going away? I haven’t seen anything indicating that. Please share if you have.
Over 1300 hours were dropped in March by United. I don’t know if that is commonplace or a bad sign. Hence, the question.
