I have been wondering when 2018 benefits enrollment was going to come out. My wife’s 2018 benefit enrollment has already ended. This is probably means bad news is coming.

The roster is out for the Ejet, and we added 6 “net” pilots (4 CA’s and 2 FO’s) and 2 Ejets last month. The net CA increase came from Mesa CRJ pilots coming over.

No wonder we have to give away a Bose headset because the $22,500 bonus isn’t attracting enough pilots any longer.

I'm sure everyone has seen the email now, SDF is the new base, though I don't know how "Midwest" it is.

So here's an illuminating look at pilots in each base a year ago vs now.

DFW CA 178-157

DFW FO 148-111

IAD CA 90-69

IAD FO 68-49

IAH CA 213-177

IAH FO 178-170

PHX CA 97-80

PHX FO 71-59

As stated before, quite a few people in the pipeline, but we'll see how many actually translate to line pilots.

I haven’t seen a single month since the $30k bonus was put into place last May when we didn’t increase our “net” Ejet pilots. So, for at least the last 6 months, we have grown “net” Ejet pilots.

The problem is we have also grown the number of Ejets by 8 aircraft with 4 more to add. On the CA side, the planes have outpaced pilot growth. As a result, our Ejet CA’s are being beat up and because of that the Ejet CA’s are leaving for jobs they would not have otherwise.

Exactly. And how many Ejets are we due to get total? 60? That’s 5.8 pilots per airplane. That’s an absurdly low number - most airlines aim for ~9.

What do you think will happen to hiring once Endeavor gets their new rates, and the AA WO match or beat them by early next year?

I didn’t know PSA was having trouble filling classes too.
