Why would anyone who thought we there was a chance of being booted out of IAH accept an August Ejet class?

Republic iah base has been a rumor for a while. I'll believe it when I see it. I'll believe it when I see it. Hope it happens. It will give mesa pilots in iah an option for an industry standard contract and affordable healthcare.

The rumor of Republic opening an IAH base is as old as the Continental/United merger, when the Shuttle America E-170s started to show up in IAH. In early 2014 everyone was saying an IAH base was imminent and they got EWR instead. Then when they announced that batch of 52 E-175s for United in late 2014 Bedford himself mentioned in an email that DEN and IAH could be future bases; we are still waiting, and by the way we at Mesa ended up getting some of those E-175s (was it 24 of them?) when RAH entered chapter 11. Then everyone was saying that as soon as they exited chapter 11 IAH was going to open, and as of right now is still only rumors. They have always had a decent operation out of IAH, but they have always been against hub bases. Also Mesa, in spite of being Mesa, is doing fine in IAH right now, specially when compared to the other two United regionals that operate out of there.
