Mesa 3.0

Are you freakin kidding me? If anything the exact opposite is true. Having Mesa on your resume doesn't help one bit, unfortunately. Look at all the hundreds of pilots who have been dying to go somewhere better for many, many years and aren't getting a call. Try telling them that having worked at Mesa puts them at the head of the line.

It takes one to know one. Here you are trashing Mesa pilots (where half barely live on the money they receive and another 40%+ who voted "no") for a few extra dollars each month. And, meanwhile, Mesa's pilots (hired the same date) will be in the majors long before those from other regionals if they can put up with the low pay and bull$hit and junior assignments. They more than make up the extra compensation over their lifetime.
As far as the SWA flight, I suspect I made it on an IOE flight for the FO where no one said anything to me. A CA lining up on a closed runway for a visual just seems to be an IOE stunt.

I honestly think Mesa is a good place to work. I'm DFW based and live in town so things have been ok for me. Everyone has been great and I've been flying with some very attractive and fun flight attendants which helps. I believe that Mesa is a stepping stone like any other regional but if you decide to stay it's an individual decision. For me as of now Mesa has worked out very well for my situation and my classmates feel the same. Yeah if I wanted more pay I could have chosen any of the other 5 options I had on the table but it's worked out for me.

I didn't ask what the recruiters told you; How many do YOU know of? I can count maybe 10. In reference to Southwest, the only ones that will be getting called sans PIC time anywhere in the near future will have to be otherwise exceptional.

Who needs to know recruiters when you know the Manager of Pilot Hiring at two majors (one an ex-Mesa pilot)? Do you really have no clue what is happening at the majors? Just like Mesa senior pilots grouse about the signing bonus, the majors senior pilots are grousing about new pilots not needing type ratings or minimum CA hours. Waiving degrees is going to come. Things are going to get wild over the next 3 years (unless the retirement age is raised).

You just know enough to know that Mesa pilots don't stand a chance at getting hired. You are just trolling our forum.
