If I read correctly...pilots have to provide their own mount?? What is everyone using? RAM Mount?
What are you going to fly? The mount varies between the Ejet and the CRJ. It is also too early to worry about the mount until you have been to Indoc. Then, you don't need it for weeks.

You don't need a LTE version of the iPad unless you want it for personal use, such as reading your email. The WIFI iPad is fine since you can connect at the hotel and home for Chart updates.

I recommend getting the latest iPad available since the EFB software slows down with each release.

There is a Fry's Electronics down the street from the hotel where you will likely be staying for training. So, you can wait and buy the iPad after talking with those in Indoc with you. You will need it for the first day of Indoc.

Unless the FAA has changed thier mind recently here's what were approved for:

No Mesa doesn't give you a sim card. Matter of fact were not authorized for those functions.

We're approved for 2 types of mounts. Fat Gecko and the inhouse bob mount.

Memory, type, etc are all up to you. Although the Ipad 2 & 3 are no longer supported by Jepp. So it's gotta be a 4+

There is a different mount that many prefer on the Ejet and is approved.

Thanks for the info. Just trying to get a feel for what pilots are using. I will be asking for the E-Jet when I interview.

If you're looking for a mount, I have a bob mount, as well as a dual suction cup for either the iPad 2-4 or air/pro that I can sell you.

Thanks. We'll see if they offer me the E-Jet. If not, probably won't be making the move over.

We need Ejet pilots right now - so I don't think you will have trouble getting it. We still have 8 EJets on the way this year.

There's a sucker born every minute! And Ornstein is thankful for that daily.

And on the eighth day JO said "Let there be EJETS!" And Ejets there were. The upgrades flowed like the happy hour boxed wine at the Guesthouse suites in ELP, and those who partook in the sweet nectar of the aviation gods were able to move out of their parent's basement and live in the actual house with everyone else.

And JO saw that this was good and rewarded the faithful by paying for KCM and raising DH pay to 62.5 percent, and then he rode off into the sunset with his millions...
