We were told on the last TA that was the best the company could do. But there was more in this new contract. The evidence you speak of comes from the sales pitches forced down our throats

I was considering Mesa since I live by IAH, but think I'll just stick to my hub to hub commute after reading this thread. All of these threads are a big gripe session, but if all this stuff about Mesa is true, I'll stay away.

Why aren't you at Mesa rather than a hub to hub commute if you live by IAH? It depends on your goals for whether you come here or not. If you come here (unless circumstances change), you won't be here long because you will be a CA with 1,000 hours left seat time in just over 3 years.

What is the reserve time at IAH? How many hours is airport reserve and how many times per month can it be used? How much are the medical/dental for a single person?

Default Good question

I was going to ask the same. Also what is year 2 and 3 pay after this new contract? Are the hotels any better?

You probably will not sit reserve for very long with the new aircraft coming in. The insurance benefits are another thing though. Mesa probably has the most expensive health care in the airline industry with the worst coverage. It was one of the things that was not even addressed in this new contract. Even at the new higher pay insurance will eat a significant portion of your check.

You might spend a month or so on reserve. Then, a line holder where the line only gets better with time. Upgrade to CA is currently 25 months from DOH.

Medical/dental is the killer unless you are generally healthy and go with a high deductible plan. If you aren't healthy or don't have a wife/partner with health coverage, then this is a tough place to work. That is the one thing I wish they would have addressed.

Thanks for the info. Yea, I've heard the benefits are horrible there. I'm currently paying about $140 a month for everything for just myself..at the high deductible plan though. I've heard it's upwards of $300 for a single person over there?

My wife has coverage for the family. So, I haven't even looked at the cost of coverage. It is high is all I know.

Despite most of the griping on here, the pilots are a good group. And, I voted no.

If you are single, wanting to fly the most advanced aircraft in the regionals, wanting to fly a lot and upgrade to Captain quickly, and live in Houston, I can't think of a better place to go.

Ok.. how are hotels these days? Was that part of the agreement or is the hotel issue still crazy? Second question is parking. Does Mesa cover parking at airport?
