Mesa 3.0

Let's dissect this newest email.
Still on about this, huh?
200% of not much is... still not much. Maybe if we weren't constantly at min days off, this might be worth considering. Also, staff your airline properly. Do you not understand supply and demand?
STAFF YOUR AIRLINE. (And do it legally, these new hire bonuses were and remain bull****)
Yep, for seven years.
Clearly.
Mhm, once in place.
Anyone watch It's Always Sunny? The Implication.
"Help us or we'll tell mainline not to hire you."
The national pilot shortage, caused by the impact and reaction to the 1500-hour rule, has dramatically diminished the number of qualified pilots in the industry hiring pool, making it difficult for Mesa to continue to fill our hiring needs.
As a result, we need your help, especially in the short-term, to do all possible to stay healthy and when asked, to make yourself available (at premium pay) to cover flying resulting from last-minute unplanned absenteeism.
...it is frustrating for us to have to discuss with United excessive IAH Absenteeism and the refusal of JRA we have experienced of late.
The Company has been most flexible in working with your MEC and Negotiating Committee to create a comprehensive, desirable and competitive contract offer...
Clearly, it is in the best interest of all of us to get this contract resolved and in place quickly.
Once in place, Mesa will be in excellent shape with the best hubs, contracts and short upgrade times...
...without the fear of furlough facing our peers...
While we understand that many of you do not plan to make Mesa your long-term career choice and are building hours to fly large jets for Major carriers, as realists, we support that career choice. We receive more and more calls for recommendations from Major and other large carriers every day, and we are pleased to recommend those in good standing. Again, please continue to help the Company and your peers by doing the job you signed up for, and we will do our best to advance your career with Mesa or others in the Industry.

Yeah that email sounds like "come on guys, play ball, is it really that bad here?" And the answer is yes it is that bad there. When company has that attitude, I feel they should shut the doors if they can't keep up with the industry. Add up how much money they spend on new hires that spend several extra months in training, hotels, instruction, etc. all could have been avoided with better candidates and better pay to attract these kind. Shout out to the IAH crews that are doing what's in the best interest of themselves, and not the company! Good for you! :-)

Well Looks like that just changed again. Just saw a advertisement boasting $61,780 first year total compensation for new hires. Not sure the breakdown is tho.
