Define "old dudes". 40's, 50's, 60's? Or anyone that is senior to you?

FARs state what I already know- that to fly in RVSM you need the autopilot to be operational (not engaged).
YV captains always says we can't hand fly in RVSM (my IOE instructor let me..) so that's why I'm looking for the GOM reference.
Do I want to every day? No.. but once in a while I might want to.. Not to cruise, but to climb to assigned altitude then let George takeover.

you must be one of the E-jet peeps. Just remember this industry is seniority driven my friend. And when this ship starts tanking in bad way, you E-jet peeps will be some of the first to go back to the right seat.

This is bitter.
This place is not to the real world bud, so don't get to use to it unless you are staying until music stops. Your benefits on the E-jet here are not realistic. Three things are going to happen here IMO. One, this place gets a deserving contract or bought (outcome unknown if this happens). Two, the mass exodus continues and the downgrades happen, contracts go bad and flying lost (UA specifically). Three, the doors close over night leaving half the pilot group stuck in outstations with no ride home. Good luck to all of us.

Are you talking RVSM or RNAV departures?
