Mesa 3.0
#3343
The training time is pretty much the same across the board, 2 to 3 months. Mesa's no exception. Unless Mesa gives you the ability to live in base, your commute will be far more worthwhile at any other airline. Times are tough here, and going to get even worse. Pay is half of what you will make anywhere else. The upgrade time is no faster than many of the others. If you want to fly a lot, you can certainly do that ... while still making only half as much. So, WHY??

You just need to ask yourself what is more beneficial to you? Staying at Mesa while waiting for that phone call, or somewhere else that may have a better QOL, higher pay, and probably add another type to your resume?
Will that phone call ever come? If you go somewhere else, will you end up liking it so much, that you won't care anymore? You need a plan B, C,D,E,F...

Yes, you will fly a lot, perhaps even hold a line right away. If thats your only criteria, good choice. If you care about QOL, not so much...

I can tell you that I waited on one particular company way too long. When i Finally put out my resume everywhere I had 3 calls on same Day, another call the following week and two more when I was in grounschool for the company I was waiting on in the first place.. Don't be picky, hell if nothing else get the damn interview experience for the company you want to go to... GTFO of MESA before you don't have a job to go to...

I see that PSA is doing a recruiting event in IAD early next week with on-site interviews (the Chief Pilot posted a video online today). I wonder if they are trying to take some Mesa pilots.
I mean, PSA's first year FO pay has got to be the same as 3rd or 4th year captain pay at Mesa.
