I'm guessing he got a pretty good deal on the E175 flying from United. Probably a lot better than his CR7 contract. It's all speculation, though. Some of those CRJs are getting long in the tooth. If he had to cancel flights and give back flying, it would probably involve the older aircraft that cost more with maintenance/engines and were negotiated when the going FFD rate was lower. No one really knows the financials behind any of the flying, lease agreements, CPAs, aircraft purchases, mx, etc., but I doubt JO would take anything on that wasn't financially beneficial for himself and the company. But if I were JO I would rather fly 12 brand new planes with EMB support under a brand new agreement and give back some of the old beater CRJs that are used and abused mx pigs, depending of course on the economics of the whole thing.

So you consider the guys and gals you fly with everyday bottom of the barrel? Those same bottom feeders you speak of are the same guys and gals who work hard to keep this operation moving. No single person here is above or better than anyone else. We all have different situations and personal responsibilities. Bottom of the barrel is a low blow. But there are other 175 and 900 operators out there. Everyone has the option of choosing one.

No, he said the guys coming now, not the guys he flies with.

Those same bottom feeders you speak of are the same guys and gals who work hard to keep this operation moving.
You shouldn't be working hard to keep the operation moving. That isn't your job. Your job is to fly SOP and try to get the best contract you can. It is JO's job to run the airline, which, much to his dismay, involves paying pilots. Don't subsidize his shortcomings with extra unpaid hard work.

No single person here is above or better than anyone else.
Yes they are. There are people with clean backgrounds who are good pilots at Mesa. Lots of them. Those are often the ones who leave for better opportunites. There are also some very questionable pilots with very questionable backgrounds. Welcome to the real world. Not everyone has equal talent, intelligence, work ethic, or value to a company.

We all have different situations and personal responsibilities.
Yep. That is why I went there. That doesn't take away from the fact that most who go to Mesa now are either grossly uninformed, can't get hired anywhere else, or failed elsewhere, in one recent case failed at 2 or 3 other 121 carriers. Some have a life circumstance that allows Mesa to be an ok place to go, (have a lot of money and don't want to commute elsewhere, etc.).

Bottom of the barrel is a low blow.
Not a low blow. It is a fact. Mesa pays the very lowest wage in the industry, by far. Bottom of the barrel pay (by this much disparity) gets bottom of the barrel applicants, in most cases. Don't get emotional about facts.

But there are other 175 and 900 operators out there. Everyone has the option of choosing one.
Not exactly. A lot of the newhires at Mesa tried going elsewhere first...didn't exactly work out for them. Again...that's a fact. Some Mesa failures went to other regionals and did just fine, though, so you can take some solace in that.

Don't believe me? Ask the training department for facts regarding the quality of newhires, average sim sessions required, average pass rate, etc. There are some who have money and can afford to go to Mesa and choose Mesa based solely on the base, but that isn't the majority of those hired in the last 6 months.

Nobody likes you if you've taken a bonus. And yes, you'll pay back what's left on your training contract. If you're not here, do not come here. If you are here, why on earth did you come in the last year?

For me whats importent is quick training and to fly as much as i can on reserve. You think mesa is not the place for those two reasons?

Is Mesa training "quick" compared to other regional? I thought all regional trainings have similar foot print, no? If no, someone please let me know how many weeks from Indoc to IOE at Mesa.

KCM denied again. I wonder if it's another bill the company "forgot" to pay...
