Does the union provide these numbers to you every month? Would be nice to see.

Thanks.
Net - 110?
I heard Mesa was recently awarded additional aircraft...If that's true, then troubled waters are ahead...
Wondering when vacations will start to be cancelled and the domino effect will start if it hasn't already started.

I did get to know him and yes, he was a really cool guy. Me and some of the other guys who knew him were all surprised when he started doing that. There were several attempts to get him to knock it off.

..History repeats itself..2007 Mesa lost over 700 pilots, almost half of the workforce..Cancelled vacations, junior assignments, pay issues etc etc, (long list), so everybody left..
JO has not learned anything..Or does not want to learn..

My guess is that it's more money in his pocket to not address the problem, because eventually, there is nothing he can do, once the flood gates truly open. Why spend millions now to retain pilots in the short term?

Then why go out and bid for airplanes that any rational person can see he won't be able to staff?

He can't even staff what he's got now. Cancellations are already happening.

Probably figures he can squeeze a few more revenue flights in on a good day, maybe attract a couple more guys from the perceived growth? Keyword is perceived.

I think that what he's learned over the years is that regional time-building pilots are a dime a dozen. And, he was always able to pull himself out of crises with trinkets and promises. What he doesn't seem to grasp is that things are very different now in that the new hire pool is down to a puddle. All of the regionals are having a difficult time maintaining adequate staffing, even with huge sign-on bonuses. With the lowest pay of them all, at about half of what all the rest pay, Mesa doesn't stand a chance. Not only does that prevent people from coming here, but it also has people splitting in numbers that are far greater than other regionals. With summer demand around the corner, new planes coming, and a staffing level that could easily drop another 20 to 30 percent in the next few months, it seems that this place could be in big trouble. If anyone feels differently, please chime in (I know you will anyway).

Probably the only ones coming here for the crappiest pay nowadays are the ones who failed trainings at the other airlines. JO will be scraping the bottom of the barrel from here on out.

I agree with the others that once vacations are cancelled, the vise tightened, and lots of unstacking, it's going to convince people to leave sooner. However, I will stop short of predicting the end of Mesa, they will still be around for some time to come. They will shrink, but theres a lot of pilots who will not leave that will keep the doors open.
