Oh, I understand. The guys a troll. The problem is that a lot of newbies look for info on this forum and he isn't helping ...
He'll put out misinformation about Mesa on here faster than Rosie O'Donnell goes from the cash register to the buffet bar.

Open time pay is great. It's almost as if I'm making starting captain pay. A lot of people working here are strapped for cash, and count on that incentive flying. Don't expect us to come to the rescue on the trade board for your bidding mistakes.

Trying to let Mesa off the hook by crying bidding mistakes? I made no mistakes in my bid whatsoever. But sometimes people want time off, and nobody can get it when the reserves stay **** poor thanks to our greedy company. The only way they'll learn is once everybody starts leaving en masse for other airlines with better QOL.

Ask MagPBS for an exact definition, but the way I understand it is that your PBS preferences are disregarded until the software is satisfied with the leftover open time. AKA there is so much open time even the available reserves wouldn't be able to cover it and it would probably cause mass crew cancels.
