There apparently are not current negotiations or are at a standstill. Also, beware of thinking the new hire bonus will be around in the near future. It is in violation of our current contract and we have a VERY good case to have it taken away. I fear some of the people who recently came here expecting to have that additional money until they upgrade are going to be very disappointed soon.

It's only going to get worse. I'm in the top third in base and I got nothing (conditions) that I bid for. Magpbs explained why. It's only going to get worse. There are 5 days in the month of March that are not in negative numbers on the FO side and three of those or zero. My 2 years is almost up. When I was hired the recruiter told me to come here for 2 years and then move on. That is what I'm attempting to do. I can't understand JO's mindset. It's like he's stuck in 2007. I'm tired of his whining about the 1500 hour rule in every communication to us. It's going to be interesting to see what he does when he he finds out he's going to have trouble staffing these new airplanes. He can't even staff what he has. I will fly extra for 300% and not a penny less and if they get horsey with me it goes to 400%. If they agree to pay you more make them follow up with an email or put VX3 or whatever you agree to in your Rainmaker account. What's the old saying? "Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part." Be professional but be firm in your resolve.

They haven't tried. They just don't want to because it would hurt JO. Again company men in the union. Besides they let it go to long. It is no different then what happened with the harris award. It is "status quo" now. Even if the union decided to grieve it now it they will lose it in court because of this. You need to get union leaders that are pro pilots.

I don't understand why ALPA national doesn't have professional negotiators/attorneys available to us to handle these things. I guarantee the opposition (companies) do. We have line pilots going up against professional negotiators. I have always said and will continue to say that a union that represents main line pilots and regional pilots is a conflict of interest.

All the union has to do is challenge it in court. Pressure you union reps to take it to a judge and ask them why they haven't already.

Mesa ALPA has to picket to burn up the 2 million they were given. Do you think the public cares? Mesa is a private company! If they were public then picketing might get some public shareholders to worry. Mesa ALPA just has to show they are doing something with the money given to them from ALPA. If they really were serious however in getting a new contract they would file for mediation. That costs very little for the progress it would gain. Unfortunately for Andy, that would mean Mesa ALPA would have to come prepared to negotiate in mediation, no more stalling. I think ALPA national has no ideal that Andy is a company man. If you really care then either leave or raise hell to your union on filing for mediation. Forget picketing.
