The amount of purple on the FO schedules is ridiculous. I see lots of 90 hour lines on them also. And it's just March! Summer is going to be ugly.

So what does that mean exactly, there are lots of open lines for FO's to fill, meaning that they are short on FO's? Should be good for the ones they have then. lol

It's the world we live in now. "Alternative facts".

There is lots of open time for FO's, but more likely will be flown by reserve captains.
It's good if you want to fly a lot. However, the amount of flying given by "coverage" is staggering, meaning the pilots bids aren't being taken into account. Quality of life goes down then.

Considering the reserve grid is red for every day, it's not surprising everything I try to swap is being denied.

However some FOs seem to be able to swap; any time I email crew line adjustments they say its due to lack of reserve coverage. Which doesn't answer my question :/

You can swap a trips that operate on the same day within 5 hours of each other. So you can swap a 4 day on the 4th for another 4 day on the 4th as long as they are within 5 hours of each other regardless of buffer.
